Edit, delete and manage contacts in your Truevail CRM

Learn how to edit, delete and manage contacts on your Truevail CRM. Update Core Properties such as email addresses, phone numbers or manage Consent, Lists, Tags for individual contacts or multiple contacts collectively

Edit the Core Properties of a contact

Select an individual contact to edit Core Properties such as Email Addresses, Phone numbers and Mailing Addresses


1. Click the Apps icon on the left-hand side of the screen

2. Click CRM and select Contacts from the dropdown

3. Scroll down or enter the name of the contact in the search bar and click to select

4. Click the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and select Edit Contact

5. Edit the details you wish to change and click Save in the top right-hand corner of the pop up window

Manage Lists for a contact


  • Follow steps 1 to 3
  • Click the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and select Manage Lists
  • Check or uncheck the lists and click Save in the top right-hand corner of the pop up window

Manage Tags for a contact


  • Follow steps 1 to 3
  • Click the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and select Manage Tags
  • Click the x next to a tag to delete OR
  • Click in the bar reading Separate tags with a comma to type in a new tag (to add multiple tags, separate tags with a comma)
  • Click Save in the top right-hand corner of the pop up window

Merge a contact


  • Follow steps 1 to 3
  • Click the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and select Merge Contact
  • Type the contact to merge with in the Find Contact bar or scroll and click to select
  • Click Save in the top right-hand corner of the pop up window

Delete a contact


  • Follow steps 1 to 3
  • Click the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and select Delete Contact
  • Select Yes to confirm deletion

Update the factors of multiple contacts collectively

Select multiple contacts to update factors such as Consent, Lists, Tags or to Delete


1. Click the Apps icon on the left-hand side of the screen

2. Click CRM and select Contacts from the dropdown

3. Scroll down or enter the names of the contacts in the search bar and click the circle ⚬ to the left of each name

Tip

To make changes to all your contacts simultaneously - click the upper left circle ⚬ below the Search Bar to select all


4. Click the red Actions bar

5. Select an option from the pop-up window that you want to update for all the selected contacts

Update Consent for multiple contacts


  • Follow steps 1 to 4
  • Tick to either Add or Remove Consent
  • Tick to select applicable consent CHANNEL (multiple options can be selected)
  • Select the REASON for consent
  • Tick to Restore Consent if contact was previously opted out if relevant
  • Select Next in the top right-hand corner of the window to Update Consent
  • Click Finish

Update Lists for multiple contacts


  • Follow steps 1 to 4
  • Tick to either Add or Remove from Lists
  • Tick to select applicable LISTS (multiple options can be selected)
  • Tick to Resubscribe if contact was previously unsubscribed if relevant
  • Select Next in the top right-hand corner of the window to Update Lists
  • Click Finish

Update Tags for multiple contacts


  • Follow steps 1 to 4
  • Tick to either Add or Remove Tags
  • Click in the bar reading Separate tags with a comma to type in the tag (to add multiple tags, separate tags with a comma)
  • Select Next in the top right-hand corner of the window to Update Tags
  • Click Finish

Delete multiple contacts


  • Follow steps 1 to 4
  • Select Yes to confirm deletion
