Understanding Web Hosting, Domain Hosting, and Truevail's Services
Overview
At Truevail, we provide professional website building and hosting services to help businesses establish a strong online presence. It's important to understand that when you choose Truevail to create and host your website, your domain registration will remain separate from our services.
Web Hosting vs. Domain Hosting:
1. Web Hosting:
- Web hosting is a service that stores your website's files on a server, making your website accessible to visitors on the internet.
- Truevail provides web hosting services, which means we store and manage your website on our own web servers.
2. Domain Hosting:
- Domain hosting is a service that manages your domain name (e.g., www.yourcompany.com) and points it to the correct web server where your website is hosted.
- Truevail does not provide domain hosting services. You will need to purchase domain hosting from a separate provider such as GoDaddy, etc.
Using Truevail's Services with Your Domain:
1. Website Creation and Hosting:
- Truevail will build your website and host it on our web servers.
- We will then connect your website to your domain, which is hosted by your domain hosting provider.
- When someone types in your domain name, it will point to the website hosted on Truevail's servers.
2. Website Maintenance:
- Truevail will fully maintain your website, including content management and technical aspects.
- The $99 monthly fee for Truevail's services covers web hosting, website maintenance, and access to all our additional services.
- You will only need to pay for your domain hosting separately to your domain hosting provider.
When you choose Truevail to build and host your website, we will create and store your website files on our secure web servers. However, your domain will continue to be registered with your current domain registrar (such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, etc).
To ensure that your domain directs visitors to your new Truevail-hosted website, we will work with you to point your domain to our servers. This process involves updating your domain's DNS (Domain Name System) settings to specify that your website is now hosted with Truevail.
Once your new website is ready to launch, we will guide you through the process of connecting your domain to your Truevail-hosted website. At this point, you can cancel any existing website hosting plans you may have as Truevail will now be hosting your website files. However, you will need to maintain your domain registration with your current registrar to retain ownership of your domain name.
If you did not purchase your domain, or do not know how to access it, you should reach out to your current website host and ask them how you can access it and transfer it to your own domain registrar account.
By keeping your domain registration separate from your website hosting, you maintain full control over your domain while benefiting from Truevail's expert website building and hosting services.
